IES in China:
Committed to fighting climate change

Internat Energy Solutions (IES) brings with it a rich experience and expertise in the fields of energy efficiency consulting, sustainable urban development, and renewable energies. In order to deploy these competencies in China, IES is currently researching potential projects on which to engage and partner with local organizations. As we have evolved in both Europe and North America, each new project will allow us to perform further studies and thus refine our understanding of China, in order to adapt our practices for this unique region. Having developed the knowledge and best practices for this work, IES benefits from a competitive advantage.

In particular, IES has been specifically mandated by the French Agency for the Environment and Energy Management (ADEME) to adapt its Territorial Climate and Energy Plans (TCEP) and Bilan Carbone® tools to China. In order to perform these adaptations, it is necessary for IES to research and calculate the GHG emission factors specific to each location in order to obtain the most accurate results possible. Therefore, we will be looking to develop partnerships with those organizations that are specialized in such fields of knowledge. In return we will be sharing our experiences and knowledge of projects from around the world to the local regions of China.

We are also convinced that such an internationally recognized tool and methodology could prove to be extremely useful in China to help design policies and monitor the progress made on the ambitious GHG reduction plans announced by the government. And specifically to help monitor such a progress on a regional basis, with the possibility to branch down all the way to the county level or the district level of major cities. In this way the allocation of targeted GHG emission reductions and the monitoring of these can be made much more efficiently.
